Cruise Lines That Call at Bari

Bari is a regular port of call on Mediterranean cruises. Main lines include:

Cruise Line Typical Port Window Notes
MSC Cruises 7–10 hours (typically 08:00–17:00 or 09:00–18:00) Largest volume of Bari calls; time sufficient for Polignano
Costa Cruises 6–9 hours Regular Adriatic itinerary stops; afternoon departures common
Norwegian Cruise Line 7–9 hours Mediterranean itineraries include Bari on Eastern Med routes
Royal Caribbean 7–9 hours Seasonal; check your specific itinerary departure time
AIDA Cruises & Princess 5–8 hours Shorter windows; stick to Bari city tours unless 7+ hours

Port windows vary by sailing date and itinerary. Always check your specific shore time before booking any excursion. Build in a 90-minute buffer before the all-aboard time.

Port Logistics: Terminal to Meeting Point

Bari's cruise terminal and the boat departure points are in different locations. Here is how to get between them.

Cruise Terminal Location

Bari's cruise ships dock at the Stazione Marittima (Terminal Crociere), in the main port area near the city centre. The terminal entrance is on Via Nazario Sauro, roughly 1.5 km from the old town.

To Bari City Boat Tours

City aperitivo tours and the Gozzovigliando fishermen's boat depart from Porto Vecchio (Old Harbor), on Via Francesco Crispi near Marisabella port. From the cruise terminal: 15-minute walk along the waterfront, or €5–8 taxi.

To Polignano a Mare Caves

Take a taxi from the cruise terminal to Bari Centrale station (~€10, 10 min), then the FSE train to Polignano (27 minutes, €3–6). From Polignano station walk 20 min to Cala Ponte Marina (the main boat departure port). Total travel: ~1 hour each way.

Cancellation & Delays

All GYG tours listed here offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before. If your ship is delayed or the port call is cancelled, contact GYG directly with your cruise line documentation — refunds are standard in these cases. Book tours with free cancellation, not "non-refundable" rates.
