May, June, and September offer the best balance. The water is warm (19–24°C), crowds are thinner, and prices are more stable than the July–August peak. Avoid December through February — the Bora wind (a strong northeast wind off the Balkans) makes Adriatic conditions unpredictable and most shared tours suspend for winter.
